国際財務報告基準（IFRS）への移行を検討している国々において、最近いくつかの興味深い進展がありました。米国証券取引委員会（SEC）は、米国の財務報告システムへIFRSを組み込むかどうか、また、いつ、どのように組み込むかを2011年後半に決定する予定です。日本の金融担当大臣は、日本はIFRSへの移行を2014年から2016年まで先延ばしにする可能性があると示唆しました。インドは、当初提案していた移行日を経過しているにも関わらず、何も言及していません。PwCグローバルのチーフアカウンタント John Hitchinsは以下の個人的見解を示しています。
