SEC to vote on amendments to the investment company “names rule” next week

The SEC’s next open meeting will not include the climate disclosure rules, but the Commission is scheduled to discuss amendments to the rule that addresses investment company names (the "names rule”) on September 20th. Originally proposed in May 2022, the amendments are intended to increase investor protection by improving and clarifying requirements regarding fund names.
