米国財務会計基準審議会（FASB）は、2015年11月11日、提案されている金融商品の分類および測定に関する基準の発効日について議論を行いました。年内の公表を目標にしている金融商品の分類および測定に関する基準は、公開企業について、2017年12月15日より後に開始する事業年度、および当事業年度に属する期中報告期間より適用されます。非営利企業および従業員給付制度を含む非公開企業にはさらに1年の猶予がありますが、公開企業の発効日と同時に早期適用することもできます。
