PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP appreciates the opportunity to comment on the Proposed Statement of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, Postponement of the Effective Dates of Certain Authoritative Guidance.
We support the proposed one year delay in effective dates of certain provisions in Statements and Implementation guides that are effective in periods beginning after June 15, 2018, with the option to adopt early. This temporary relief from new accounting and financial reporting requirements will allow entities to focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on financial reporting activities. We commend the Board for taking expeditious steps in response to feedback from stakeholders.
